Artistic and Functional Pottery
Description:
In this course, students will create artistic and functional pottery such as cups, mugs, bowls, plates, and vases.
What You’ll Learn:
- Slab Construction: Explore techniques to shape and form pottery.
- Surface Decoration: Use creative methods to add texture and design to your pieces.
- Receive demonstrations and personal feedback in every class, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.
What You’ll Take Home:
At the end of the course, students will have finished glazed ceramics that are ready for use.
Who Should Join:
- Open to all skill levels.
- Suitable for complete beginners and those with ceramics experience.

- Included in Tuition: $75 materials fee (covers one bag of clay and glazes).
- Optional Materials:
- Mini ribbon tool set
- Textured objects from home (e.g., lace, leaves, or the sole of a shoe)

Reid Nicholls is a ceramic artist and sculptor whose body of work uses symbolic imagery paired with figurative elements to create abstract forms that are hand-built and wheel thrown.
