The Impact of Your Donation

While The Academy has been a non-profit organization for many years, revenue generated from classes has provided the majority of operational revenue. The time is now for The Academy to reach even deeper into the community and share its programs across New Orleans. Under the direction of an expanded Board of Directors and the extraordinarily talented faculty, The Academy is expanding its reach into the community and opening its doors to increase its impact.

With your philanthropic support, The Academy will:

  • Significantly expand scholarship programs to encourage students young and old who otherwise would not be able to afford classes at The Academy to benefit from classes and workshops.
  • Increased funding would allow for expanded partnerships with YAYA (Young Aspirations Young Artists), local public schools and Kids Smart (bringing faculty to local public schools without access to arts programming), to name a few.
  • Expand workshops and other programs in partnership with arts organizations across New Orleans including NOMA, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, The Contemporary Art Center, and The Bascom in Highlands, NC.
  • Support ensuring faculty are supported in their pursuit of excellence professionally, and as educators at The Academy.
  • Expanding our exhibitions and bring students from across New Orleans to experience art at The Academy.

Ways to Support the Academy

A Word From Our Executive Director

The Academy is where art begins. Some artists who begin their journey at the Academy are later seen in museums, galleries, and homes around the world. We enrich lives, encourage creativity, and help others to appreciate art by providing a nurturing environment through engaging education and personal enjoyment.

The future of The Academy is bright, but financial support is needed to sustain its ability to foster and develop the next generation of visual artists across New Orleans, regardless of their social and economic backgrounds. We call on your generosity as we expand our fundraising efforts into the future and expand our reach deep into the community to ensure that all have access to the programs we offer.
