Beginner Ceramics: Hand Building and Wheel Throwing
Description:
This 6-week beginner course introduces the fundamentals of ceramics, combining hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.
What You’ll Learn:
- Techniques such as soft slab construction and centering clay on the potter's wheel.
- Basic surface decoration methods to enhance your work.
- Finishing techniques, including glazing.
Students will work in a safe, supportive environment, gaining a foundational understanding of ceramic processes and taking home finished glazed ceramics. Ideal for beginners or those seeking a ceramics refresher course.

- A notebook and pen/pencil
- Provided Materials: All tools and materials are provided.
Materials Fee:
There is a $75 fee for materials, including clay, tools, and glazes.

Reid Nicholls is a ceramic artist and sculptor whose body of work uses symbolic imagery paired with figurative elements to create abstract forms that are hand-built and wheel thrown.
