Scholarships
The Academy is invested in making our educational opportunities open to as many community members as possible. That is why we are excited to offer scholarship opportunities each year. Beyond our student exhibition merit scholarships, we also offer open enrollment scholarships each year supported by friends of the school. Click on the name of a scholarship below to learn more.
The Coleman Family Scholarship Award
This award is given to a student each year that shows exceptional skill and craft in their work. This award bestows upon the student the credit of 2 classes at the Academy for the upcoming academic year. The Award is annouced in conjunction with the Annual Student Exhibition.
The Director’s Scholarship Award
Awarded to a student who shows investment and growth in their artwork. This award bestows upon the student the gift of 1 class for the upcoming academic year. This award is chosen by the Executive Director in consultation with the faculty. The Award is announced in conjunction with the Annual Student Exhibition.
The Scalfi Spirit Scholarship
The Scalfi Spirit Scholarship is funded by Sindy Scalfi, in memory of their late father, Robert (Bob) Scalfi Jr.
In honor of his love, kindness and generosity of spirit, Sindy funds this annual gift. This award will be offered to students who apply to the program through the link below. Applicants are reviewed anonymously, and the gift is offered directly to the applicant based on need, merit and investment in our school and programming. Each year applicants will be reviewed prior to fall registration and an awardee will be named before classes begin.
Applications for Fall 2024 are now closed. Applications for Fall 2025 are being accepted. Scholarships will be awarded in August prior to the Fall 2025 session beginning.
Paint With Pops Scholarship
The Paint with Pops Scholarship in honor of S. Stewart Farnet, Sr.
This scholarship was developed through the support of the Azby Fund and artist and faculty member, Aimee Farnet Siegel in honor of her father, S. Stewart Farnet, Sr.
Aimee cherishes her experience taking a class with her father at the Academy and hopes this scholarship will help promote a similar opportunity for others.
This program is designed to fully support any students who would like to take a class at the Academy with a family member, and may not have the ability to cover tuition for themselves, and their loved one. While our scholarship programs are designed to encourage accessibility at the Academy, all students are welcome to apply and applications are kept strictly confidential. Please join in on the creativity at the Academy with a family member, and fill out the on-line application form.
