Exploring Pottery on the Wheel: All Levels
Intermediate Wheel Throwing
Description:
This 6-week course is designed for students with basic wheel-throwing experience who have completed at least one beginner-level class.
What You’ll Learn:
- Develop technical skills to create functional pottery.
- Incorporate unique decorative elements into your work.
- Topics include:
- Shaping vessels
- Closing forms
- Adding handles and lids
- Creating altered forms
Focus Areas:
- Planning and designing pottery to refine your approach.
- Building new skills to tackle more complex forms.
Class Format:
- Demonstrations followed by hands-on practice.
- Individualized feedback and guidance provided by Reid, who shares his passion for ceramic arts.
- This class can be taken multiple times to further develop skills.
Supplies:
- Materials Fee: $75 (includes clay, tools, and glazes).
Prerequisites:
Completion of at least one beginner-level wheel-throwing class.

Reid Nicholls is a ceramic artist and sculptor whose body of work uses symbolic imagery paired with figurative elements to create abstract forms that are hand-built and wheel thrown.
