Ceramics: Artistic and Functional Pottery

Overview:
In this class, students will create both artistic and functional pottery, including cups, mugs, bowls, plates, and vases. Using slab construction and surface decoration techniques, participants will explore self-expression through clay.

Each session includes demonstrations and personal feedback to ensure a supportive and encouraging environment for everyone. By the end of the course, students will take home finished, glazed ceramics pieces that are ready for use.

This class welcomes everyone—from complete beginners to those with prior ceramics experience. Come join the fun and get your hands dirty!

None

Supplies:

  • Included in Tuition: $75 materials fee covering one bag of clay and glazes.
  • Optional Materials:
    • Mini ribbon tool set
    • Textured objects from home for pressing into clay (e.g., lace, leaves, or the sole of a shoe)
