Description:
This class is open to both beginners and more advanced students, allowing you to craft your own curriculum:
- Beginners will receive structured guidance in exploring color, medium, and application using the traditional Grisaille method.
- Intermediate and advanced students can delve into various content areas such as narrative still life, portraiture, master copies, and more.
Escape the stresses of life and discover the joy of oil painting!
Class Environment:
- Classes take place in the interior 2nd-floor painting studio with ample artificial lighting and the porch studio featuring north-facing large picture windows.
- Each student will be assigned a dedicated space for the entire semester.

Andrew Rodgers
The Executive Director of the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, Andrew Rodgers, is an arts administrator, arts educator, and artist. He sits on the New Orleans Arts Council and is a passionate champion of the arts who has worked with arts institutions throughout the Gulf Coast to improve the lives of people through the arts.
