This beginner photography class introduces the fundamental principles of using SLR or Mirrorless cameras. Classes are kept small to encourage participation and provide personalized instruction tailored to student interests, such as landscapes, portraits, or action photography.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Camera Basics: Parts of the camera and their functions.
  • Camera Care: Handling memory cards, batteries, and changing lenses.
  • Automatic Modes:
    • P Mode: Adjust exposure for brighter or darker results.
    • A (Aperture Priority) Mode: Blur backgrounds when using telephoto lenses.
    • S Mode: Capture action images or night photography.
  • Lenses: Understanding frequently used and cost-effective kit lenses, including normal zooms and telephoto zooms.
  • Lighting: Learn to create images with window light, inspired by techniques of the old masters.
