Figure Study
Saturday Open Studio Figure Study: Long Pose
This is an uninstructed, three-hour pose, figure studio with a nude model where you can explore your life-drawing or life-painting skills.
Our uninstructed life drawing open studios offer opportunities for students of all skill levels to practice drawing and painting the human figure with a live model in a welcoming and respectful atmosphere. The model will assume the same pose for the full three hours.
Sessions take place in our beautiful 3rd-floor atelier, offering:
- North light during daylight hours
- Ample artificial lighting at night
The Academy provides:
- Easels
- Boards
- Drawing benches
- Chairs
Participants bring their own preferred art supplies. Male and female models will be nude, and students must be at least 18 years of age. Experienced monitors ensure that our studios are run at a high standard.

Registration:
- Please register online at least 24 hours before class to reserve your place.
- Drop-ins are welcome if space permits.
Instructor:
Jonathan Hodge
Jonathan's themes often reflect the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity, perhaps best illustrated by his paintings of Hurricane Katrina that devastated his hometown of New Orleans. He believes not only in the power of art, but its ability to move people.
