Private Lessons, Portfolio Prep, and Independent Studies at the Academy through individualized programming, the Academy can craft special private lessons and programs for students ages 4 and up in which the individual student can pursue their own projects and take advantage of our facilities and faculty.

Private Lessons for All Ages
Want to explore a new medium, but don’t want to take the leap with a larger class community? Do you or your family prefer your privacy or have a busy schedule? We can work with you to craft a program that fits your needs and interests so that you or a loved one can work one on one with our master arts teachers in any medium.

Highschool or Middle School Portfolio Prep Independent Studies
The Portfolio Preparation program for young students is an important part of our youth program. Students in Middle and High School can enjoy the benefits of a specialized program that helps them craft a portfolio to apply to college or a high school arts program. The critiques and development in this program can be essential to a young artist, as many of our faculty members have been through the process of putting together a portfolio themselves.

Independent Study Programs within Current Programing
Adult students who want to use our facilities, such as our large format presses in the Printmaking Building or the kilns/wheels in our Ceramics/Sculpture classroom, can craft an independent curriculum in conversation with our faculty and take advantage of open studio time!
These programs allow our community members to take full advantage of what the Academy offers!

Home School Fine Arts Opportunities
The Academy offers an amazing opportunity for the home school student to explore the fine arts. Pre-planned class experiences of personalized lessons are available here so that your homeschool student can have the privilege of a fine arts education while still enjoying the safety and flexibility of the Home School experience.
