Paint the Pavement
Big things are blooming at the Academy!
The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts is now building a vision to transform our back parking lot into a vibrant greenspace and outdoor art studio—a space for students to relax, create, and help our city hold more water in a sustainable way.
While construction isn’t quite underway, we’re ready to bring the vision to life on the pavement with a community mural designed by NOAFA Faculty Artist Alex Beard.
On Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, we're inviting students, faculty, community members, and more to help us fill in this outdoor mural and celebrate the green future of the Academy.
In typical festival season fashion, this Paint the Pavement will also feature live music, local food, libations, and other forms of family-friendly fun.
We extend thanks to our partners at Depave and The Urban Conservancy for joining us in facilitating this foward-thinking event.
We hope to see you there as we turn our campus' concrete into a canvas.
